The Government’s planned legislation requiring vaccination as a condition of deployment was due to come in from 1st April 2022. However, on 31st January the Secretary of State announced that this is being revoked.

The Government’s decision is subject to Parliamentary process and will require further consultation and vote to be passed into legislation.

This change in policy means that employers have been requested not to serve notice of termination to employees affected by the VCOD regulations.

NHS England has written to the system and is reviewing its current guidance and where necessary will update Trusts, systems and partners: this includes VCSE organisations.
